Attention Neighbors and Friends! Once again it is time for our annual River Heights City Apple Days celebration. So mark your calendar for September 8th at the River Heights City Park.

There will be a variety of games and activities that will a "peel" to the entire family. Watch for more details.

The Apple Days Parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. To enter the parade or for more information contact our parade experts, Dixie Wilson (752-6446) or Diane Weese (753-2582).

The Program starts at 5:30 p.m. and is under the direction of Vic Jensen (755-9265). More details to follow!

We're in a "Star Search" for River Heights talent ages 3 - 100! All vocal, instrumental (all kinds), poetry (cowboy, humorous, etc.), lip sync, piano, dance, jump rope, juggling and other acts are invited to share their talents (solo or group) on stage at Apple Days at 6:30 p.m. during the dinner hour. The three most entertaining talent acts will win one of the three great prizes: 3rd Place $25; 2nd place $50; and 1st Place $100! Every Star Search participant will get a Westates Movie Ticket! Call Kathy Wright at 752-6158 to reserve your spot on our Star Search stage!

Dinner will be prepared & served by the Lions Club starting at 6:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the River Heights City Offices at 520 S 500 E (752-2646). Cost for the tickets: $5.00 Adults; $4.00 Children; $20.00 Family tickets purchased in advance (Immediate family only)

Our annual Apple Days/Dean Ellis Memorial Doubles Tennis Tournament is Aug. 20 - Sept. 8. The Tournament is open to all current or former residents of River Heights, as well as any non-resident children and grandchildren. The Doubles Tournament will include divisions for men, women, youth, parent/child and mixed/doubles teams. Sign-up deadline is Sunday, August 19. There will be a one-time all-event fee of $5 per entrant for trophies. Call Rod, Lisa or Elisabeth Ellis (752-4680) to enter, or for more information.
